Move More. Sit Less. Get In Sneakers.
As part of Caribbean Wellness Day 2026, the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) is inviting people across the Region to get active through the In a Sneakers campaign.
Running from 14–18 September 2026, In Sneakers encourages Caribbean people to build more movement into their everyday lives by wearing sneakers where appropriate and choosing simple opportunities to be active throughout the day. The sneaker is intended to be a symbol of movement.
This year’s Caribbean Wellness Day focus is Youth and Wellness, under the theme:
Engage. Empower. Elevate.
Our Mind. Our Body. Our Wellness. Empowering Caribbean Youth.
What is “In a Sneakers”?
In a Sneakers is a regional physical activity campaign designed to show that being active does not always require a gym, sports programme or structured workout.
Movement can happen during the activities you already do every day.
- Take the stairs.
- Walk at lunch.
- Move between tasks.
- Walk around the mall.
- Join a walking group.
- Take a beach walk.
- Go on a picnic.
- Participate in a 5K.
- Choose active ways to spend time with friends and family.
Any amount of physical activity is better than none, and physical activity accumulated through everyday tasks counts.
The campaign uses sneakers as a simple, visible symbol of the choice to move more and sit less.
