Epidemilogist (Emergency and Response and Early Warning Systems)

In August 2023, the Pandemic Fund Governing Board announced that CARPHA’s regional entity proposal, entitled ‘Reducing the Public Health Impact of Pandemics in the Caribbean through Strengthened Integrated Early Warning Surveillance, Laboratory Systems and Workforce Development’ was successfully selected for the first round of financing. CARPHA is the Executing Agency and the IDB is the Implementing Entity. The Goal of this Project is to Reduce the Public Health Impact of Pandemics in the Caribbean through Prevention, Preparedness, and Response.

With this in mind, CARPHA now invites applications, suitably qualified individuals, from IDB Member Countries (https://www.iadb.org/en/who-we-are/how-we-are-organized/borrowing-member-countries), for the following job opportunities: -

CARPHA: Headquarters, Port of Spain

The Epidemilogist (Emergency and Response and Early Warning Systems) will develop/expand and operationalize Integrated Electronic Warning System and Emergency and Response systems, protocols to strengthen CARPHA’ and Member states’ capacity to detect and respond to emerging disease threats and other public health emergencies. The Epidemiologist (Emergency and response and early warning systems) will interact with relevant CARPHA departments (Communicable Diseases and Emergency Response, Laboratory, Tourism and Health, Foodborne, Vector-borne, Field Epidemiology & Public Health Workforce Development) and CMS in accordance with the Projects Operations Manual, including aligning to CARPHA’s communication protocols with CMS; and will work closely with the epidemiologist for the real time integrated surveillance systems, and other relevant persons in the Project for developing and implementing the EISS.
